Sow seeds 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected spring frost for early summer blooms.
Directly broadcast seeds into the garden bed in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked, or in late autumn for blooms the following spring.
Use a lightweight, free-draining seed-starting mix. Feverfew does not like soggy soil, even as a seedling.
Surface-sow the seeds by pressing them gently into the moist soil. Do not cover the seeds with soil, as they require direct light to germinate.
Mist the soil surface gently with a spray bottle to avoid burying or washing away the tiny seeds. Cover the tray with a clear plastic dome to maintain humidity.
Sprouts will emerge quickly, typically within 7 to 14 days. Remove the plastic cover immediately when green shoots appear.
