Seed Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds directly outdoors after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed to at least 60°F (16°C). Plant seeds ½ inch deep, spacing them 6–12 inches apart in rows 18–24 inches apart.

 For earlier blooms, seeds can be started indoors 2–3 weeks before the last frost and transplanted carefully once seedlings are established.

Germination typically occurs within 7–10 days.

For continuous flowering, sow new seeds every 2–3 weeks through midsummer.

Sunflowers thrive in full sun and well-drained, moderately fertile soil.

Water regularly during early growth, then moderately once established.

Avoid over-fertilizing, as excess nitrogen may reduce flower production.
