Sunny or slightly shaded places in garden beds, rock gardens, as well as on properly cared for lawns.
Crocus grow best in humus-rich, permeable and sufficiently moist soil.
Crocus tubers should be planted from September to November. Plant the bulbs to a depth of about 5-10 cm. The distance between the tubers should be 10–15 cm. They look the most beautiful planted in groups of several, a dozen or even several dozen. Growing in the same place for several years, they form dense clumps. They are planted under trees and shrubs, on the edges of flower beds and in rock gardens. Crocuses can also be grown in containers and boxes.
We feed crocuses with compound fertilizers 2-3 times during the period of intensive growth. If they grow on the lawn, remember to wait until the crocus leaves dry before mowing the grass for the first time.
They are dug up every 3-4 years, usually at the beginning or middle of June, but you should wait until the leaves begin to dry. After digging up, they should be dried at a temperature of 20–25°C, then cleaned and separated from the adventitious tubers. Until planting, the cleaned tubers are stored in an airy place.
